Nine MU Extension 4-H members were chosen to market and sell their 4-H projects at the Show Me 4-H Wares booth in Mizzou Central during the Missouri State Fair, Aug. 13 - 16.

To participate in the Show-Me 4-H Wares program, each 4-H member filled out an application describing his or her project and goals for participating.

Steve Henness, extension associate, says that the 4-H program is about producing not just blue-ribbon projects, but blue-ribbon kids.

“Show Me 4-H Wares youth exhibitors do a great job of demonstrating marketable skills they’ve learned through 4-H, and how young entrepreneurs can put those to use, especially in the tough economic times,” says Henness.

The booth is part of the MU Extension 4-H entrepreneurship project that helps youth apply their 4-H skills toward earning an income while meeting needs in their community.
