Are you a high school student looking for something exciting to do this summer?  Then Summers @ Mizzou is the place for you!  Come, explore campus life while learning about different college majors and career opportunities.

Summers @ Mizzou Camp Choices

Camps are available as either residential or commuter camps.

 

Residential camp fee includes housing (two youth per dorm room), all meals and snacks, and great evening activities on campus and downtown Columbia.  Commuter camp fees include daytime activities, lunch and snacks.

 

Details about what to bring to camp and a schedule of events will be mailed to each registered and confirmed participant.  Camps are open to all high school students.  You do not have to be in 4-H to attend.

Note: One $100 4-H scholarship is available  for each of the six camps.  Include the completed scholarship application with your registration.

  Build-a-Business Camp

July 26-29, 2009
 

Would you like to be your own boss?  Are you interested in learning how to start a business?  Build-a-Business camp will help you get started! Explore what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Learn from young entrepreneurs who have already turned their ideas into income. Team up with other youth and put your best ideas to the test. Make connections with community entrepreneurs and MU faculty. Gain skills for planning and starting your own business. Scholarships are available from camp sponsors.

Partial scholarships are still available for “Build-a-Business” overnight/day campers until May 1! 

Overnight campers – can request $100 scholarships (cost of camp after scholarship = $210)

Day campers – may request $40 scholarships (cost of camp after scholarship = $50)

Additional scholarship funds may be available for youth with cases of special need – please contact us.

 

Build-a-Business Camp

 

  GeoTech
July 26-29, 2009

 

Do you like maps? Are you interested in the latest geospatial technology such as GoogleEarth, GPS, GIS and Remote Sensing? Would you like to GeoCache or create “mashups” in Google Earth? At GeoTech, you will learn how to use these devices, spend time outdoors exploring a cave.  We will collect and analyze geographic information and then use the geographic laboratory to plot your data on maps. Interested? Then grab a flashlight and show up at N 38° 56.579 W 092° 19.633 and be ready for fun and action!

  Scrub-In to a Health Career Camp

Have you watched Grey’s Anatomy, ER or Scrubs? Do you like to help others? Are you interested in math and science? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this camp is for you! Spend time exploring different health careers through hands-on experiences, guest speakers, and opportunities at the University Hospital. Camp Counselors Needed


Do you like working with teens? Are you looking for a short-term summer job? If so, Summers @ Mizzou may be just what you are looking for.

 

Counselors are needed for each Summers @ Mizzou camp. Counselors are responsible for planning and implementing the educational content as well as providing guidance and supervision to youth 12-18 years of age. If you are interested in this opportunity, review the job description and submit your application today!  Application deadline is April 10.
